Michael and Yianna
Meanwell Michael has been writing professionally in Australia for more than 20 years. He is an experienced journalist, editor and commercial writer, who has written four books. Michael has dedicated his life to helping people help themselves through his books, workshops and programs. This commitment began at 17 when he wrote his first novel (which has since been likened to Celestine Prophecy) and the publication of poetry and articles in newspapers. Since then, his career has evolved from a freelance, staff journalist and columnist for various publications, including the Herald-Sun, New Idea, People and Small Business Success to a public relations and marketing consultant. His client list includes small businesses, non-profit organisations and well-known companies ranging from Kodak, Ford, Honda, Océ and World Vision to Target, Cross Writing Instruments, Paccar, VDO and Royal Selangor Pewter. In more recent years, Michael has also invested time building a center which helps people develop their latent talents through meditation, natural therapies and complementary techniques. In addition, Michael has dabbled in fiction (he's written short stories, a play and is currently drafting his second novel, a political thriller), produced and hosted a weekly radio show, and written and presented a series of motivational television programs. He has also written a number of books for writers, including the critically acclaimed 'The Enterprising Writer' and 'The Wealthy Writer', which show how to set up a professional writing business and capitalize on the most lucrative market available to writers today. In addition, he has produced 'Writers on Writing', a compendium of more than 360 poignant quotations from classic and contemporary writers about their craft and over 150 positive affirmations written by Michael to help inspire and motivate today's writers. He is a member of a number of professional bodies, most notably the Australian Institute of Management, the Australian Marketing Institute, the Australian Society of Authors and the Public Relations Institute of Australia. Michael now uses this experience and expertise to present information which can help you enhance your productivity, improve your profitability and transform your world. Michael was born in Sydney, raised in Brisbane and lives in Melbourne. When he's not lecturing, consulting or hammering away at his Mac, Michael and his wife, Yianna, enjoy travelling, entertaining and having fun in the Land of Oz.
